2017 was a year of highs and lows, just like every other year. For some, the year was more difficult than others while some had the best year of their lives. In my life, it was a year of self discovery and tested limits. I embarked on a great adventure and came home with more than just new friendships. I came back with a new out look on what I can do. God tells us that through Him, we can do all things because of the strength that a life in Him gives. There is no fear. So I figured why let fear of the unknown keep me from doing things I have longed to do like drive to Texas with my mom or write books.
I look forward to what 2018 holds. I know that many doors will close but only in order to make room for something more amazing and more Kingdom focused. God has a plan and I can’t wait to see what He has in store.
In this newsletter, you’re going to see some changes. I will be adding some new features while taking others away. I hope that this frees up more time for me to write and for you to read some amazing stories.
As of January 1st, I am no longer blogging for Heart”wings” and I am discontinuing “Back Porch Reads”. God called me to write and to minister to women. Removing these simple things from my list, it opens the door for me to do just that. You will see more on “Melissa’s Musings” as I share what God places on my heart. Don’t worry though, I am still an avid reader, so each month, you will see at the bottom of the newsletter my book recommendations for the month. Occasionally you will find a review but lets face it, we all want to see for ourselves how good a book is. (Not saying reviews are not important. Just saying you don’t need three paragraphs telling you so.)
I hope you find this new set up easier to maneuver and that you enjoy all that you read.
Until then, I hope and pray you have a blessed New Year.
What am I working on?
Fear not, I have not forgotten about this gem. In fact, I am working on it now. After having to step back from book writing to see to the needs of my family after the loss of
our young and beloved dog and then the sudden assent into the holiday season, I am beyond ready to get back to this story. It is plotted and ready to attack. I will let you all know when it is ready for you. Until then, how about this……
“The day Corporal Bradly Jones stepped into Tiffany’s life after her brother’s accident, he became a staple in her life. His tender care for her and her family softened her to him. So much so that she agreed to marry the heroic solider.
Fast forward ten years and Brad’s promotions within the Army keeps him from home more often than he likes, leaving Tiffany to fill her time alone, using her engineering and contracting skills to revive historic homes. Through out all the struggles of their marriage, they trusted God’s plans for their life but an encounter with enemy insurgents changes everything.
Can they continue to trust God’s divine design or will they go their own ways?”
Hope this is enough to tease you. I can not wait to show you the rest!
